ABOUT OUR TEAM

For over 40 years, the Needham Sharks Summer Swim Team has provided opportunities for Needham swimmers to refine their skills and technique in a fun and competitive environment. Practices are held Monday-Thursday at Needham’s  Rosemary Recreation Complex.  All Needham children ages 6 - 18 years old who  are welcome. Be aware that all swimmers will be required to demonstrate that they can swim 25 yards of each stroke safely in order to join the team.

Our goal is to develop swimmers with a good foundation of competitive swimming skills in a fun and supportive environment. Our main focus throughout the season is stroke technique of all four competitive strokes, starts, and turns. Our coaching staff hopes to provide beginner swimmers looking for an introduction to competitive swimming, as well as veteran swimmers looking to strengthen their technique with a practices and meet experiences that will help them develop a stronger foundation of competitive swimming fundamentals so they can be successful at the recreational, YMCA, USS , High School levels should they choose that path. We hope that everyone on our team has  an experience that allows them to build character, self-esteem, sportsmanship, determination, and lifelong friendships.
